The lessons continue for both the horse, and the kid, and they are both enjoying the process... Kenzie was trotting on the lunge line today.. and the horse was enjoying our first time braiding of her mane and tail.
I still got it in me. Don't tell my director what I been up to, but it sure felt good to spend a nice long day in the trees yesterday. These trees where blockin the wonderful view to the water, and the south. After 40 years of ownership, it was time to get the OLD VIEW BACK!
Today we took the horse to the fairgrounds arena. Worked with it a bit and had one of the local young girls get up on her. She had a great lesson.... and McKenzie enjoyed her debut amongst the other "Island Riders" Looks like many many horse hauls to town int he days weeks, and years to come!
I took this photo, its a stitch, of 5 individual shots, then photoshoped. Can you find the seams? I can. Our show is going to be a huge success...I am sure of it!
We washed, shampooed, conditioned, and cut the pony's tail today... Up and out of the way. Trainer said, steppin on your tail, aint a good thing.... Kenzie stayed at home to catch up on rest, and home chores today, and is enjoying "horesechores". She also wants to see a chickens head get chopped off!
Well, 8 of 18 remain, tomorrow, its their turn... We chilled 8 birds in an hour and a half today, after 8 weeks of portable poultrey work! Its seems hardly worth the effort, but the freezer will be full, and we have 25 more chicks comin at the end of this month!
